Russia, for example, admits special and service passport holders visa-free for 30 days, while ordinary passport holders need an e-visa. The lists above cover the ordinary passport only.

  • Schengen passport rule: the passport must have been issued within the previous ten years and remain valid for three months after your planned departure.
  • Damaged passports: torn pages or water damage can lead to refusal of boarding; renew a damaged passport before travel.
  • Purpose of travel: visa-free entry covers tourism only. Work, study and long stays require the correct visa or permit.
  • Rules change: check the Ministry page and the destination’s embassy shortly before departure.
