Turkey e visa fee depends on your nationality: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sets it country by country on the basis of reciprocity, and the official e-Visa website shows your exact amount before you pay. Many travellers pay nothing at all, because citizens of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, China and most of Europe no longer need a visa for short visits.
This guide explains who needs to pay, who qualifies for an e-Visa and on what conditions, the official 2026 visa fees in Turkish lira, and how to avoid the unofficial websites that charge several times the real fee. It is based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa information page and the 2026 visa fee table, checked on 13 October 2026.
Key points
- There is no single e-Visa price: the fee is set per nationality and shown on evisa.gov.tr before payment.
- US, UK, Canadian, Australian, Chinese and most EU ordinary passport holders are visa-exempt for short stays, so they pay no e-Visa fee.
- Some nationalities, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Philippines, can get an e-Visa only if they hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit.
- The 2026 statutory fee for a single-entry visa is 9,376.40 TL and for a multiple-entry visa 31,410.00 TL.
- Apply only at evisa.gov.tr. Unofficial websites resell the same e-Visa at a mark-up.
Turkey e Visa Fee: How the Amount Is Set
Türkiye does not publish one e-Visa price for everyone. Under the Fees Law framework, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decides, on the basis of reciprocity, which nationalities pay a visa fee and how much. That is why two travellers on the same flight can pay different amounts, or nothing at all.
The only reliable way to see your fee is the official application itself: on www.evisa.gov.tr, select your nationality and passport type, and the fee and any conditions are displayed before you enter payment details. You pay online, and the e-Visa is issued after payment.
Who Does Not Need an e-Visa at All
If your country is visa-exempt, there is no e-Visa to buy and no fee to pay for a tourist trip within the permitted stay. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ordinary passport holders of the following countries are among those exempt:
| Nationality (ordinary passport) | Visa-free stay |
|---|---|
| United States | Up to 90 days in any 180 days |
| United Kingdom | Up to 90 days in any 180 days, for tourism |
| Canada | Up to 90 days in any 180 days |
| Australia | Up to 90 days in any 180 days, for tourism and transit |
| China | Up to 90 days in any 180 days, since 2 January 2026 |
| Germany, Italy, Greece, Ireland, Netherlands and most EU states | Up to 90 days |
| Saudi Arabia | Up to 90 days in any 180 days |
| Russia | Up to 60 days, for tourism and business |
| Indonesia | Up to 30 days per entry, 90 days in any 180 days |
British passports with British National Overseas, British Subject or British Protected Person nationality are not covered by the UK exemption; their holders must obtain a visa from a Turkish mission. For eligibility rules and how to apply, see our Turkey e-Visa guide. To check the rule for your own passport, use our Do I need a visa for Turkey nationality checker.
Who Can Get an e-Visa Without Extra Conditions
Ordinary passport holders of a number of countries can apply online without a supporting visa. Examples from the Ministry’s list:
- Mexico: 30-day single-entry e-Visa (or a 90-day multiple-entry visa from a Turkish mission).
- South Africa: one-month single-entry e-Visa (or a three-month multiple-entry visa from a Turkish mission).
- Vietnam and Timor-Leste: single-entry e-Visa for stays of up to 30 days.
- Jamaica, the Bahamas, Barbados, Grenada, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, the Maldives: three-month multiple-entry e-Visa.
- Armenia, Namibia (since 5 May 2025), Fiji, Mauritius: e-Visa available online.
Conditional e-Visa: Supporting Visa Required
For several nationalities the e-Visa is available only to travellers who hold a valid visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, the USA, the UK or Ireland. These e-Visas are typically single-entry and valid for one month. According to the Ministry, this applies among others to ordinary passport holders of:
- India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Yemen and Palestine;
- the Philippines, Senegal, Cape Verde and Equatorial Guinea;
- Egypt for travellers aged 15 to 45, with additional airline conditions (under 15 and over 45 can apply without the supporting document).
Airlines and Turkish border officers check the supporting document; the e-Visa website does not. If it does not cover your entry date, you can be refused boarding. Our country guides explain the details for Indian and Pakistani citizens.
Official Turkey Visa Fees for 2026
The statutory visa fees for 2026 are set by the General Communiqué on the Fees Law published in the Official Gazette No. 33124 of 31 December 2025, and apply from 1 January 2026:
| Visa | 2026 fee |
|---|---|
| Single-entry visa | 9,376.40 TL |
| Multiple-entry visa | 31,410.00 TL |
| Single transit visa | 9,376.40 TL |
| Double transit visa | 18,813.80 TL |
| Return visa on individual passports issued on exit from Türkiye | 15,672.10 TL |
These are the statutory amounts in Turkish lira. Which nationalities pay a visa fee or a visa application fee, and the amounts actually charged to them, are determined by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the basis of reciprocity. That is why the e-Visa fee shown to you online can differ from this table. The single-entry visa fee also matters if you entered visa-free and later apply for your first residence permit: it is then collected once with the application, as explained in our Turkey residence permit cost guide.
e-Visa vs Sticker Visa: Which Costs Less?
Where you have the choice, the e-Visa is usually cheaper. The Turkish Embassy in New Delhi, for example, states that for Indian applicants the e-Visa costs at least USD 85 less than a sticker visa, which carries a separate visa centre service fee. Sticker visas remain necessary for work, study and other purposes, because the e-Visa is valid only for tourism and commerce.
Avoid Unofficial e-Visa Websites
Search results are full of websites that look official and offer to “process” your Turkish e-Visa. The Turkish Embassy in New Delhi warns that all websites other than evisa.gov.tr are not official; they obtain the e-Visa from the official site on your behalf and charge more than twice the official fee. If you have already used one, check that your e-Visa is genuine on the official status page (evisa.gov.tr/en/status/).
When the e-Visa Is Not Enough
An e-Visa or visa exemption covers short stays only, usually up to 90 days within any 180 days or less depending on nationality. To stay longer you need a short-term residence permit, applied for before your permitted stay ends. Overstaying leads to fines and can lead to an entry ban; our Turkey overstay fine guide shows how the fine is calculated. If your application is refused, see our guide to the Turkey visa refusal letter.
